What is Ozempic?
Ozempic® (semaglutide) is a prescription medication primarily approved for type 2 diabetes that is also prescribed off-label for weight management. Like Wegovy, it contains semaglutide and works by mimicking GLP-1 to regulate appetite. Ozempic is administered as a once-weekly injection.
How does Ozempic work?
Ozempic works by activating GLP-1 receptors that control blood sugar levels and appetite. It slows gastric emptying, helping you feel full longer, and reduces appetite signals in the brain.
Will my insurance cover the cost?
Our insurance concierge team works with your insurance provider to help get your medication covered. If insurance doesn't cover your medication, we'll discuss alternative options including compounded semaglutide.
